  1. Murder is wrong.

  2. Advocating or applauding murder is wrong.

  3. Criticizing a person, even harshly, is not advocating or applauding murder.

  4. There’s no inconsistency in condemning a person’s ideas and condemning his murder.

  5. Misrepresenting a person’s ideas is not a valid way to make a point.

  6. Making threats against people for their opinions is wrong.

  7. Mourning the death of a person isn’t advocacy of everything that person said and did.

  8. First guesses aren’t always accurate conclusions.

  9. The First Amendment protects every person’s right to express an opinion, even a disgusting one.

  10. The First Amendment doesn’t protect anyone against having their opinions called disgusting.
