Update #2 on Constant Content

The situation with Constant Content remains the same. Payments to writers are long past due, and I’ve seen no indication anyone has been paid recently. Some people have received an email instructing them to set up payments through Stripe. Others say they haven’t received it. They can’t find this information on the website. I used my old account to log in and couldn’t find any information indicating a change of ownership or payment method.

The writers’ FAQ says, “Payment is made the first week of the beginning of each month.” It doesn’t say the first full week, so I take that to mean writers should have been paid last week. Comments on Reddit and elsewhere indicate that’s been their past practice. I let the following Monday go by to be generous, but I’m still seeing no reports of people getting paid.

Here’s the latest Reddit thread. As I’m writing this, no commenters say they’ve received payment. If I hear of anyone getting paid, I’ll put an update on this blog.

The FAQ says, “Payments are made through Paypal to the account you provide us when you signup.” This directly contradicts the new email instructions.

Constant Content has a blog. Businesses typically post important updates to their blogs. The most recent article is dated July 24, at which time CC was behind on payments, but it’s a “marketing guide” without any information on the company’s status. I don’t see anything on the blog page that looks like information related to the payment issue or the company’s relationship with RevenueWire or Moresby Media. I still can’t find anything about what Moresby Media is.

This blog has somehow become the main public source of information, other than Reddit discussions, on what’s happening with Constant Content. I’ll do my best to keep you up to date.

Are any Constant Content people reading this? Feel free to post a comment clarifying the situation.

It’s hard to escape the conclusion that Constant Content is stonewalling, and every day without payment makes it less likely that writers will ever see any.

Update

More news, about noon EDT, August 4:

Some people now report having been paid.

Moresby Media Inc. is a BC (British Columbia) company, created on June 24, 2020. I haven’t found a physical address or website for them.

August 8:

These are based on reports by writers on forums. I can’t personally confirm them. Stripe payment is apparently available just in some countries, perhaps just in Canada and the US. One writer has reported difficulty in connecting to an existing Stripe account.

A commenter on Reddit reported that “Nicole” from Constant Content responded to a question about payment with “Sorry if I gave the impression that we promised you anything.”

The Constant Content website still claims payments are made through PayPal, which is false. It still doesn’t acknowledge the existence of its payment problems.
