“Geheime Staatspolizei” means “secret state police,” usually shortened to “Gestapo.” It was the Nazis’ enforcement bureau, the ones who snatched people without charges and sent them away to prisons or execution. In the United States, it’s shortened to “ICE.” Its masked thugs have snatched people off the street, not presenting any criminal charges, and shipped them to offshore hellholes. So far I haven’t heard of its intentionally killing anyone, though people have died in its custody.

It now has another common factor with Hitler’s Gestapo: It uses violence to go after forbidden ideas. The following is a screenshot which I took and can confirm is real from ICE’s account on X.com (aka Xitter). That graphic looks a lot like a burning cross to me, unless it’s a dagger.

There are no ideas which it is illegal to bring across the border. ICE has explicitly declared it is in the business of censorship. The abduction and imprisonment of Rümeysa Öztürk for writing an article critical of Israel shows they mean it.

This is tyranny.

Update: The post has been deleted. In spite of ICE’s claim it was an “error,” an item with such elaborate and sinister graphics doesn’t just get tossed up on a whim. Perhaps it got more blowback than expected, or maybe it was intended from the start as a hit-and-run to intimidate people.
